    Please browse the website for featured menu selections.  Menus can easily be designed to meet your budget, diet, and/or theme.  Food is presented on decorative platters, disposable trays, or even in your own dishes. 
     Hot buffets include wrought iron chafers & fresh table linens.

The Red Lantern was a dream of mine for a very long time.  I moved to Durango eight years ago with my son & our dogs, and we found the perfect location for absolutely EVERYTHING in our lives from skiing & kayaking, to 4x4, motocross, and backcountry camping.
     I am a 1992 graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.  I have been managing professional kitchens for more than twenty five years. The dishes presented here were gathered or invented, and then perfected over the course of my career.  I am very proud to offer them to you.  I have run the kitchens of four star hotels, local organic delis, oceanfront restaurants, high production catering companies, and upscale country clubs.
     I have lived & cooked all across America.  My recipes reflect the best of each region.  My BBQ sauce is from a Greensboro, North Carolina gentleman who spent his life grilling over a pit of homemade charcoal - the charcoal recipe he would not share with me :)  I learned to cook seafood in Ocean City, Maryland.  My chowder recipe comes straight from the boat of a Long Island lobsterman.  I inherited my "bowl & a spoon" cake recipes from my mother and grandmother, and then spent several years adjusting those Pennsylvania Dutch recipes to Durango altitude.
