Please browse the website for featured menu selections. Menues can easily be designed to meet your budget, diet, or theme. Food is presented on decorative platters, on recycled disposable trays, or even in your own dishes.
Hot buffets are displayed in beautiful wrought iron chafers with fresh table linens. I offer recycled disposable serviceware at buffets, or I would be happy to arrange the rental of china & glassware for your event.

Opening the Red Lantern has been a dream of mine for a very long time. I moved to Durango seven years ago with my son & dog, and we found the perfect location here for absolutely EVERYTHING in our lives.
I am a 1992 graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. I have been managing professional kitchens for well over twenty years. The dishes presented here were gathered, invented & perfected over the course of my career. I am very proud to offer them to you. I have run the kitchens of four star hotels, local organic delis, oceanfront restaurants, high production catering companies, and upscale country clubs.
I have lived & cooked all across America. My recipes reflect the best of each region. My BBQ sauce is from a Greensboro, North Carolina gentleman who spent his life grilling over a pit of homemade charcoal - the charcoal recipe he would not share with me :) I learned to cook seafood in Ocean City, Maryland. My chowder recipe comes straight from the boat of a Long Island lobsterman. I inherited my cake recipes from my mother and grandmother (and then spent the past 4 years adjusting those Pennsylvania Dutch recipes to our Durango altitude). My vegetable dishes have the ingenious touches of die-hard vegetarians in them.
